ENGLISH DESCRIPTION

An invitation to reclaim something we were never meant to lose: the strength of a tribe of women who support, understand, and uplift one another. A book for every woman who longs to feel connected to that circle once again.

In a remote village, when a woman fell ill, she was not given medicine, she was given a spoon carved by other women of the tribe, and told, “You won’t be cooking today. Today, we’ll feed you.”

But one day, the spoon went missing, and without it, the women began to put their own needs last, to compare themselves to others, to compete, to do everything without help, to communicate through a screen. They had never felt so tired, inadequate, and alone.

Since they couldn’t go on like this, they gathered and together looked within themselves. Deep down, they found the strength of women’s networks, and they promised to reclaim it. That’s how the “tribanas” emerged: women who choose one another.

In this book, psychologist Olga González shows us—with a warm style, moving stories, and scientific evidence—the impact that friendship, a sense of belonging, and support networks have on our health, our daily joy, and even our longevity.

More than just a book, Tribanas is a movement, a call to prioritize friendship among women. In a hyper-individualistic, fast-paced, and artificial society, reconnecting with one another, caring for one another, and choosing one another is an act of resistance, self-love, and self-preservation. The time has come to carve that spoon anew.
