He lives with his husband in Marin County. Carlos Aponte is an artist, designer, fashion illustrator, and the author and illustrator of the picture books Boquitas, Precious, Across the Bay, and A Season to Bee. Born in New York and raised in Puerto Rico, he now lives with his partner in Jersey City.
