Designed by Alexis Cogul Lleonart, founder of Doo Architecture, Casa B&B Italia Miami is a brutalist project where the concrete facade protects the life within. The heart of the house is a curved glass curtain whose colored elements were inspired by the colors of the seven chakras. There are also a meditation garden, an infinity pool that melds with the ocean, a monolithic coral rock waterfall, a courtyard, and a terrace that allows the morning sun to stream in across the space and create a heavenly view both day and night.
The building takes the viewer on a journey of discovery; the simplicity of the materials leads to what can only be described as a fluid deconstructing of modern architecture in dialogue with nature, following inspirations such as Frank Lloyd Wright, Peter Zumthor, and Carlo Scarpa. Featuring bespoke furniture by Italian design company B&B Italia, the spaces are not divided by walls but by architectural elements within the rooms, allowing for variation in the volume.
