ENGLISH DESCRIPTION
An enigma from the past and a mystery in the present come together in a thrilling game of deception.
At the end of the fifteenth century, an elderly Flemish master concealed within one of his paintings—in the form of a chess game—the key to a secret that could have changed the course of European history.
Five centuries later, a young art restorer, a gay antiques dealer, and an eccentric chess player join forces to unravel the enigma. Their investigation leads them on a gripping quest in which each move of the game opens another door onto a mystery that will ultimately ensnare them all.
The Flanders Panel is a captivating game of deception and reversals—blending painting, music, literature, history, and mathematical logic—which Arturo Pérez-Reverte brings together with fiendish skill.
