CHRIS HEDGES is the former Pulitzer Prize–winning Middle East Bureau Chief for The New York Times. A prolific author since his 2002 bestseller War is a Force that Gives Us Meaning, a finalist for the National Book Critics Circle Award for Nonfiction and a Los Angeles Times Best Book of the Year, Hedges’ most recent books include The Greatest Evil Is War, A Genocide Foretold, and, with Joe Sacco, Days of Destruction, Days of Revolt and the forthcoming Requiem for Gaza. He has taught at Columbia University, New York University, Princeton University, and the University of Toronto. He has also taught for over a decade in Rutgers University’s college degree program in the New Jersey prison system.
