Cinemas of Global Solidarity explores how filmmakers, movements, and networks have harnessed the cinema to forge transformative relations between people across the globe in their joint struggles against political oppression. Focusing on the history of anti-colonialism, the book shows how the aim of solidarity shaped film form and practices, including Third Cinema and women's collective filmmaking, and the history of films as objects of circulation within material networks.
