Splat's friends are having a band rehearsal for their rock band, the Cat Gang.
They want Splat to play with them, too! But what will he play? Spike hits the drums, Plank plucks the guitar, and Kitten sings in the garage. Splat cannot play an instrument, and he never got the hang of singing. The Cat Gang just does not feel right without him!
Kitten tells him to use his head, so Splat searches for an idea. He honks an old car horn from a box and rings a bell on the wall, but neither makes the right sound. When he tries dancing instead, one clumsy step turns rehearsal upside down!
