Famous for popularizing the slogan ‘Inquilab Zindabad’ or ‘Long live the revolution!’, Singh was eventually sentenced to death for the murder of a British officer.\u003cbr\u003e\u003cbr\u003e S Irfan Habib is a historian of science and of political history based in Delhi. Besides a large number of papers, he has also co-edited and authored with Dhruv Raina several books including \u003ci\u003eSituating the History of Science: Dialogues with Joseph Needham \u003c\/i\u003eand\u003ci\u003e Social History \u003c\/i\u003eof \u003ci\u003eScience in Colonial India.\u003c\/i\u003e His book \u003ci\u003eTo Make the Deaf Hear: Ideology and Program of Bhagat Singh and his Comrades, \u003c\/i\u003ehas been translated into several Indian languages like Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam, Punjabi and Bengali. He recently put together a volume on \u003ci\u003eIndian Nationalism: The Essential Writings\u003c\/i\u003e and another one called \u003ci\u003eInquilab: Bhagat Singh on Religion and Revolution.\u003c\/i\u003e His recent book is \u003ci\u003eMaulana Azad-A Life\u003c\/i\u003e.
